Candace Simmons launched All That and More Boutique in 2015 with a clear purpose: She wanted to create a space where women could find stylish, unique clothing that actually reflected them. Inspired by her own experience in the fashion industry, Simmons built a boutique around comfy, casual, and classy pieces with an edge, catering to a devoted following of mature women she affectionately calls “Morinistas”. A decade in, the boutique is still growing, and its founder is just getting started.
Solutions
Simmons connected with the Small Business Development Center and became a participant in SELF Cohort 3, the entrepreneur loan fund program sponsored by PCR Business Finance. Through the program, she worked closely with business coach Karen Blackwell, whose one-on-one coaching helped Simmons sharpen her operations, dig into her numbers, and elevate her VIP client offerings.
“Our coaching sessions have been a launching pad for continuously reflecting on the numbers in my business and how to enhance my VIP offerings to better serve my clients,” Simmons said. “Karen, thank you for taking this journey with me.”
Results
The support Simmons got from her advisor helped fuel something deeply meaningful: the launch of a made-to-order five-piece lace collection that is both a natural evolution of the boutique’s brand and a personal tribute to her late brother Alvin.
“This collection tells a story of versatility, elegance, and thoughtful design, all while honoring the memory of my brother,” she said.
Simmons credits the SBDC community for celebrating, educating, and uplifting small businesses: “Their support has been instrumental in my journey, and I look forward to continuing to build on the foundation they’ve helped me create.”
