Excluded Industries

The SBDC hosted by PCR Business Finance and the LA Regional SBDC Network are dedicated to supporting a wide range of small businesses. However, due to regulatory and program guidelines, there are specific industries and organizations we are unable to serve:

• Adult Entertainment: We cannot assist businesses that present live performances of a prurient sexual nature or derive significant revenue from the sale of products or services of a prurient sexual nature.
• Gambling: We cannot support businesses involved in gambling activities.
• Cannabis: Due to federal regulations, we cannot assist businesses involved in the cannabis industry.
• Non-Profits***: As an economic development program, our primary focus is on for-profit businesses. We generally do not assist non-profit organizations, as other programs are designed specifically for social welfare purposes.

  ***Under certain circumstances, the SBDC may provide technical assistance to non-profit organizations. Specifically, if a significant portion of a non-profit’s activities involves providing aid to small business concerns, the SBDC may offer counseling or training to these organizations, as it aligns with our mission of supporting small businesses.
